It might be judgment day for President Obama and his famed healthcare reform act. A federal just is set to rule on the different portions of the bill that have been accused of violating the constitutional rights of the Americans that it is supposed to help. However, the judge has the final word in the case and if he determines that the act does violate the constitution then the bill can be overturned in court.
The target for the bill is Congress, who is hoping to get a favorable ruling today. If the bill is in violation then they have some backing for the repeal that they passed earlier this month. In doing so the president would be unable to veto the repeal because it would also violate the constitution.
So this could be the day that everything turns around for the congressional leaders that have been working hard to repeal the entire healthcare reform act. But it is not likely that the president is going to let things drop that easily. He will still have the opportunity to appeal the decision all the way to the Supreme Court if it becomes necessary.
But there is likely to be a big fight when it comes to the ruling today on the healthcare act. If the judge rules against the protestors then they will have the opportunity to appeal the ruling as well and they are already primed for a battle against the White House in the Supreme Court if it becomes necessary.
